Mixed Acrylic and oil
Christopher Berry-Dee was born in Winchester, and for twelve years served as a Royal Marine Commando. He started painting professionally in 1978, and his paintings are held in hundreds of private and important business collections all over the world.
Christopher Berry-Dee was one of the few Falkland War artists, and for three years the Art Teacher for P & O Cruises. This notable commission took him aboard the Canberra and Sea Princess.
Christopher Berry-Dees warm, almost transparent sepia oil colours frame the central composition, and the eye is drawn into the painting which is often completed in heavy relief. Once varnished, the painting sparkles and glows in all conditions, however, under a picture light the canvas takes on a vibrant life all of its own.
