Craig John Foord was born in Brighton in 1986 and grew up there. He struggled at school, suffering from dyslexia and with no outlet for his creativity. After school he completed a National Diploma in Art and Design and an A/S in Fine Art both at Eastbourne College. He has stayed local to the area, currently living in Lancing.
His career developed around gardening and tree surgery but art always remained his true passion. This evolved into his unique technique of sculpting resin with a chainsaw.
Craig sees Jack Storm glasswork as a big influence of his work, his own pieces having a much more organic style than his inspiration. He has always had a strong emotional connection with outer space, and exploration of other planets. This is represented in his sculptures which really are out of this world.
He loves the way the resin reacts with the light bouncing off the different surfaces and creating reflections and images. Mother Nature is the best artist there is. These pieces represent my own personal journey through life and the universe.
