Nicky Litchfield
Pastel artist Nicky Litchfield grew up in Wiltshire, but now lives and works in Lancashire. As a child her weekends and summe4rs were often spent at her grandparents farm in Marlborough, and it was there her lifelong love of nature began.
Predominantly an animal artist, her paintings often capture private moments-a sleeping calf, a scratching pig, lambs playing. Working mostly in pastels she enjoys how the medium enables her to both paint and draw at the same time. The medium allows her paintings to be colourful and vibrant, whilst at the same time makes it possible for her to depict her subjects in an impressionistic and sensitive way.
Since winning the Society for All Artists, Artist of the Year Award Animal/Wildlife category in 2008, Nickys work has become much in demand. She is a member of the Association of Animal Artists and exhibits in several galleries and as part of group shows
