Gorilla White – Full Body by Matt Buckley
Gorilla White – Full Body is one of the largest and most impressive sculptures in the Edge collection, creating a truly commanding presence wherever it is displayed. This magnificent full-body gorilla is one of the few full-bodied designs in the collection and is large enough to make an impact when displayed on the floor, while being equally striking as a statement piece on a substantial side table.
The gorilla is one of Matt Buckley’s favourite animals and forms part of his celebrated ape series. Designed and sculpted by Matt at his studios in Shropshire, England, the piece focuses on bold form, texture and presence, creating a powerful interpretation of this remarkable animal.
Every sculpture begins as a hand-sculpted clay original before precision casts and moulds are created to faithfully reproduce the design using a special blend of marble-based stone casting material. Each piece is then skilfully hand-painted, meaning every sculpture has the same distinctive character while retaining subtle differences that make it completely unique.
A truly magnificent statement piece, Gorilla White – Full Body is a striking focal point for any home and a wonderful addition to an Edge Sculpture collection.
